So how do we bring ourselves into the present moment?
The simple act of noticing our thoughts and letting them
pass helps us detach. Awareness isn’t just seeing the world—
it’s truly witnessing yourself within it. By being an observer,
you observe your thoughts without acknowledging them. You
do not get entangled with your thoughts by engaging in an
emotional dialogue with them.
Focusing on your breath will help you realize its importance.
You are alive because you breathe. Your breath is your life
span on earth.
Without breath, there is no life. When we exercise our breath,
it elevates our mood.
• Observe your breath by focusing on each inhale and
exhale.
• Your mind will wander but bring your mind back to
your breath.
• Be an observer and watch your thoughts.
• It is inevitable that various thoughts will arise, but in
order to release yourself from the mental chatter, do not
engage in an internal dialogue with your thoughts.
• Let the thoughts come and go. Keep bringing your
focus back to your breath.
• Gradually, the thoughts will slow down, and you’ll
start noticing small intervals between two thoughts.
• As the intervals between two thoughts start becoming
longer, the clutter of thoughts will lose its power and start
detaching from your mind.
• These intervals are a signal that you are awakening to
the present tense and that you have lifted the cloak of the
past and the future, and your vibrational energy is shining.
You are in the Present Tense.
It is important to cultivate as a routine practice the discipline
of observing your thoughts. Do not answer the thoughts, and
by consciously returning to the breath, you are building on
your essence of being in the present and being grateful for
the simple act of breathing, as your breath is your life source.
Without breath, there is no life on earth.
Meditation brings awareness. When we meditate as observers,
we are paying attention to our senses, desires, attachments,
and the quality of our thoughts. As observers, we are better
equipped to observe and accept our present situation, and by
practicing gratitude, forgiveness, and sending positive energy,
we can better understand and be kinder to ourselves.
